OUR HISTORY

OUR HISTORY

In 1951, a young boy Saleem started working at a mechanic shop in Kabul, Afghanistan. His first assignment—to screw nuts onto the bolts and tighten them. Seeing his interest and potential, the American head mechanic of the shop + a wanderer in Afghanistan took it upon himself to mentor Saleem.

By 1972, the American mentor’s hard work had paid off and now with 21-years of experience under his belt, Saleem opened up his own mechanic shop in the heart of Kabul Province which soon turned into a company with multiple branches spread out throughout Afghanistan earning Saleem fame and reputation while ranking his mechanical company the highest throughout that developing nation.

Saleem had five sons and he taught his trade to the three eldest including Kaikaous, his second eldest son, now the owner of MTRS. Now back to Saleem’s journey.

The Soviet Union’s invasion of Afghanistan led to internal strife and civil war leading to the near collapse of the country. Afghans immigrated to neighbouring countries and Saleem was forced to flee with his family to seek asylum in Pakistan.

But Saleem’s fame and work ethics preceded him and he was able to re-open his mechanical company —this time in Taxila County, Pakistan. Some of his former customers would even drive across the border to get their truck works done at Saleem’s mechanic shops.

Saleem was selected from amongst thousands of other mechanics by the Pakistani government and awarded a contract to operate on vehicles insides the Pakistan’s secret nuclear facilities. These facilities were so secret and the assignment so important that Saleem now aged 55 was told he needed to work on the vehicles himself along with his best employee. Saleem knew who he would take with him and he choose his top performing worker, student and son Kaikaous.

Saleem passed away several years afterwards but his sons did not allow his trade, fame or reputation to die with him. No! They carried the torch and Kaikaous took his father’s trade, honesty, reliable workmanship and ideas to the Western world.

Now in Melbourne, Australia, Kaikaous is the owner and head-mechanic of MTRS. He aims to become known as the leader in his field throughout Australia just as his father was in Afghanistan. Kaikaous not only has 25-years of hands-on experience under his belt but also carries with him an additional 50-years of experience of his father taught to him over two decades.
